Real Estate Weekly, October 1, 2014

Two New York residential brokerages have joined the march to add commercial services to their platforms. Both Modern Spaces and TOWN Residential announced they are opening divisions dedicated to the multibillion-dollar New York City commercial market.

The news comes in the wake of a plethora of announcements from residential firms doing the same.

TOWN has tapped former RKF associate Jonathan Butwin to lead its commercial operation from its offices at 25 West 39th Street.

Butwin was a member of the investment sales and advisory services group at Robert K. Futterman Associates. With career transactions totaling over $700 million, he was responsible for the acquisition and disposition needs of some of the country’s largest and most active investors.

With a concentration in finance, Butwin received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from George Washington University School of Business. “Building from TOWN’s innovative infrastructure and extensive client base, TOWN Commercial is poised for success,” said Butwin.

“Together with my team, we will provide strategic insight and hands-on support to not only meet, but exceed, our clients’ acquisition, disposition and 1031 –exchange needs.”
